Experiencing Oneness
by Ken Fredette
Many good books, tapes and CDs speak of oneness. Some point out that everything in the universe is made of the same few elements. Others go deeper into the relatively new science of quantum physics, explaining how the smallest of sub-atomic particles go back and forth between being particles and waves of light. Books by people such as Eckhart Tolle and Gregg Braden provide signposts to this oneness as they share about the "now" moment or connecting with our higher selves through feeling and emotion. Neale Donald Walsh, in the Conversations with God trilogy, speaks of the illusion and myth that we are separate from everyone and everything.
Oneness wasn't on my mind a few weeks ago I was focused on lots of bad news in the world, tiredness, endless lists of things to do. I thought to myself: how do Reiki, homeopathic medicine, crystals, yoga, art, meditation, etc. make a difference? After all, the news only seems to get worse. Are we embracing fads so that we can quietly retreat from the world?
Then I went to my little secret hideaway, Barnes & Noble. I came across a book by Dr. Ervin Laszlo called The Chaos Point. What a great title. I thought my worst fears were confirmed: things are getting worse and here is a world-renowned author who knows it. Yet when I looked into the book, it was a statement of possibility and the evolution of consciousness that is taking place.
Laszlo is president and founder of the Club of Budapest. He is connected with artists, doctors, scientists, political leaders, spiritual leaders and so many others worldwide. The book is about hundreds (if not thousands) of people around the world who are hopeful, who are working toward, and who anticipate the evolution and rising of world consciousness -- transformation!
From every corner of the globe there is evolving consciousness. People aren't worrying about what other people are doing or not doing, they are saying yes to possibility and yes to choices that speak to life and their higher selves. Best of all, it's fun and energizing to be around people who say YES to life.
They, like so many others, are bringing about a world by being the peace, joy, health, compassion and creativity that they want to see in the world (Gandhi paraphrased). They can support different people on different paths, yet on the same journey.
If you want to do some exploring into even a fraction of the infinite expressions of oneness, you can check out Dr. Ervin Laszlo's book: The Chaos Point.
